The Wright Residence

The Wright Residence demonstrates how listening to the environment allows beauty to emerge from what might otherwise be considered site constraints. Situated on a long, sloping lot, dense with large canopy trees, the architecture embraces the property's distinct characteristics, responding with a timeless design built to endure for generations.

The architectural response are floating horizontal canopies that are anchored by three vertical stone clad forms. A direct reading of the forms of trees being the most natural form of shelter. Creating the impression that the form has always existed in this environment.

By preserving the intensely green surroundings and additional landscaping we have created secluded sanctuaries along the sides and rear. Spaces that effortlessly maintain privacy while dissolving the boundary between indoors and out.
